Rule 11 of 26 · Chapter III — Protecting Focus and Time
Protect your team's attention
Why this rule exists
Attention is the scarcest resource your team has, and it's the one most easily spent by other people. Every interruption, urgent ping, and hastily called meeting is a withdrawal from a shared account, and the balance doesn't refill quickly; deep work needs unbroken stretches to happen at all. A team that's constantly available is a team that's constantly shallow. Your job is partly to be a shield, absorbing the noise and letting only what matters through, so that the people who make things actually get to make them.
The full rule lives in the book
How to apply it, worked examples, and when it doesn't apply are part of Rules of Calm Leadership, a premium rule book.
